Excuses
I hear them all the time from athletes, coaches and parents. Why we did not play well or why we lost or why we cannot do something. Now is the time to stop. Stop making all of these excuses of why you are not successful or why you lost. 99% of the time it is on you. You have failed yourself and you just do not want to admit that you could be behind the failure. If you really want to accomplish something in your life then you will do whatever it takes to do it. That means if I have to wake up at 3am to workout then I will do it because I want to be the best.
Find out what you want out of life. If you are fat and want to be skinny then do something about it. Do not blame it on a fast food restaurant or some cookie company. They did not make your eat their food; you chose to eat there so except the responsibility. I have an athlete who weighed over 420lbs in high school right now that same athlete is 275lb standing at 6’8. He did not make any excuses he knew the problem and did something about it.
Two excuses I cannot stand, I do not have the money and I do not have time. Are you kidding me? Most people have the money and time to do what they want. The problem with getting better is that it is hard work, and a lot of people do not want to do it. They will spend the money on a brand new pair of sneakers, or go out to eat most nights and then spend a couple of hours watching T.V. The problem is they do not prioritize what is really important to them. They tell you they want to be better but are not willing to put the work in.
If you want to be a great athlete but do not play much for your team, do not blame it on the coach or someone else, go out and do something about it and work harder than anyone else so you can become great. Stop failing yourself time and time again. Man up and chart your own course to greatness. Do not let someone stand in your way to make yourself the greatest you can possibly be.
I have seen athletes who did not make the excuses, they struggled to be great but with hard work and accepting responsibility for their actions they have become great. Achieving their ultimate goal of playing in the NFL.
You will never make the most of you talents if you keep making excuses so change that by accepting responsibility for yourself and make yourself great. I know you that you can. Now go and show the world you can.
Unleash that Potential.
