There are many different techniques to improve your veritcal jump. I am just going to go over a few that can make a big difference with being consistant, and working hard to achieve your goal.
1.) Stretching This is very important to make sure you increase your flexibility. Two things will happen:
a) You have a less likely hood of pulling a muscle.
b) You elongate the muscle and it will have more spring to create more force.
2.) Strengthening the Legs: This will help to build a base so you can create more power on each push off.
3.) Strengthening the Core: By doing this you can generate more power and explosion on each jump. The core which includes the glutes(butt), Hips and Lower Abdominals, need to become strong to create force.
4.) Working on Plyo’s or Jumping: If you want to improve an area than you need to work on that area. So improving your vertical jump you need to work on jumping. Not just regular jumps, but also single leg, Tuck jumps etc….
These 4 steps will help you improve your vertical jump. Doing these 2-3 times per week will help you see the results of jumping higher in a matter of weeks.
